The Pool

IMPORTANT NOTE - THE POOL IS SEASONAL! 
The pool is heated with a thermal blanket that warms the water via solar energy. What this means...the pool is NOT available during the off-season, normally.  We don't have an automatic heating system -- so -- if the weather isn't going to support heating the pool -- we are going to take it into winterization. We lower the water to half-level & winterize the pump. A typical year...just before Memorial Day we bring the pool into "use"...and then sometime after Labor Day -- like in October (or whenever the "summer type" rentals are over) we winterize it.  I had a group in early May that were disappointed that the pool wasn't "up and running" -- it was one of those subjects we hadn't talked about & I felt absolutely horrible.  If your rental is on the "brink" of seasons -- let's talk about it, ok? :) Thanks!

A picture of the shallow end of the pool. I think it's about 2.5' deep. The "deep end" is 8 feet deep. You'll want to bring flotation devices & life jackets if your family will need them. 

 

This "flip lock" is located HIGH on the door downstairs in the Family Room area that accesses the pool. It helps keep small children out of the pool area without adult supervision.

The pool is an in-ground, Gunite structure. It holds 16,000 gallons of water and is 8 feet deep in the “deep end”. It has a nice step down entrance in the “kiddy end” as well. The surface surrounding the pool is exposed aggregate and there is a cyclone fence with a padlocked gate around the pool. In addition, we have added misters (those of you who have visited Palm Springs would recognize them) surrounding the pool so that you can more readily enjoy the pool during those hot Summer days...it actually lowers the air temperature by 20 degrees. The pool is heated with a solar blanket that you can choose to leave on or off — depending on how warm you want the water.

We have wonderful lounge chairs around the pool. We even have a few “floatie” things for your enjoyment, although we do suggest bringing your own — as well as your own swimming towels, please!

The downstairs of the home has a door that leads to the outside pool area. As a safety feature, we have added a ‘flip lock” at the top of the door to assist in keeping the smaller children from being able to “help themselves” to the pool without an adult’s knowledge.

The pool is maintained on a daily basis. The Property Manager will  maintain water and chemical levels. That’s one less thing for you to worry about on your vacation. There is also a Polaris free roaming pool cleaning mechanism that skims the water and pool surface on a constant basis. If you feel uncomfortable with this unit in the water — let Tracy (509.860.2638) or Lynette (509.679.0846) know and they will take care of it for you. They care for the pool for us during the summer. It is a very expensive unit, so please discourage children and guests from handling it in any way. Any damage will be taken from the security deposit.

Please note - the cleaning Polaris will need to be in the water at some point during your stay, as we have to keep the water clear & fresh for additional rentals after your stay -- so please work with Tracy & Lynette on this.
